Gerald is Raglan-based and grew up on a dairy farm in Manawaru, attending school in Te Aroha. From age 8-9, he milked cows twice daily, learning the ins and outs of dairying from a young age. After leaving the farm, he explored varied interests in other industries for several years before returning to rural life, where the fertiliser industry became his main focus.

Gerald is passionately involved in helping farmers balance their soils to achieve well-balanced pastures with a productive and profitable return from their investment. He advocates for correctly fertilising soils by utilising Dr William Albrecht's model of soil fertility, which is promoted through Kinsey Agricultural Services and the Perry Agricultural Laboratory in Missouri, USA.

Having completed all the advanced courses promoted through Neal Kinsey, Gerald mainly operates within the greater Waikato area, from South Auckland to Taumarunui.
